According to a recent survey by InGame Job and the recruitment platform Value, 26 per cent of the players in the game industry have experienced lay-offs in the past year, with game designers, artists and quality assurance teams most severely affected. According to the report, 24 per cent of marketing staff left the game business completely and became the highest job loss. At the same time, 15 per cent of employed persons have a job cycle of more than one year or are still unemployed, while 39 per cent of junior employees have opted for a transfer between 2024 and 2025. Pay treatment has become the primary consideration of 87 per cent of practitioners, reflecting the prevailing economic pressures in the industry. Half of the respondents indicated that they were experiencing professional fatigue and 41 per cent of their employees were engaged in individual project development outside the main industry. It is a matter of concern that the heat of ultra-recreational game development has fallen to historical ice points, where only 1 per cent of practitioners are committed. This large game industry employment survey covers a total of 1,050 professionals from 85 countries.
