It appears that the global popular leisure game, Block Blast, has been installed at Google Applications, and it is not clear why the game cannot be downloaded or may be mounted at the app stores. App Store at the iOS end was not found to have been affected.
According to Mobilegamer, Block Blast is not available on Google Play’s list and search results, even on the Hungry Studio developer’s page. Searching for “Block Blast” on Google Play’s page shows the result as “requesting links not in the service area”.
In January this year, the developer Hungry Studio indicated that Black Blast had 70 million active daily users in more than 200 countries and regions around the world, with more than 300 million active monthly users. According to AppMagic, Block Blast has become one of the most downloaded and popular mobile phone games in the world in recent years, with cumulative installation estimated at 868 million since its release in 2022.
In an interview in January last year, Vice-President Hungry Studio Jason Wang claimed that he was on top of the list by means of A/B tests and that he was “adult” at the practice. He said, “We do more than 50 A/B tests a week for different versions of the game function, visual effects and mechanisms. Most of these tests (about 97 per cent) fail. But we think this is an advantage, not a disadvantage.”
He also stressed that the great success of Block Blast was largely due to its user acquisition strategy. “… To be honest, we can publicly admit that the growth of Block Blast is heavily dependent on user access, he says. “It is no secret that the current level of competition in the area of user acquisition is extremely high. And to be fair, developers can no longer rely solely on UA strategies to look forward to a boom.”
With the extraordinary A/B tests, the high-speed knockout, and large-scale magic ads on social platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, the games spread wildly in the school circles of youth and high school and became the black horse on the global hand-down list. A record of 368 million downloads was recorded throughout 2025, and in the first quarter of 2026, the United Nations Global Download List was championed.
